Just finished off some greasy and fat filled treats from the holiday season? Well you should get back on track. A lot of people will try to figure out a way to get a headstart on their New Year’s resolution by finding the next big cleanse idea. Although there are ways you can certainly get some different benefits using cleanses, you’ll want to start off by doing the obvious.

Body cleanses are in fact very natural, if you’re using natural elements naturally. Duh.

What does that mean?

Simply eating healthy balanced diets will do wonders to put you back on track. If you’ve been eating poorly over the Holidays then get back on track by controlling your caloric intake and increasing fresh fruits and veggies, lots of water, and whole grains. Stay away from fatty foods, junk, bad sugar, red meats, and you’ll set up for a nice ‘recovery’ from the indulgences.

Being skinny is a dream. Just be yourself and eat proper foods instead of the processed crap your see on TV or on TV trays. So simple.

Good post from Huffington on cleanses and how all the rage doesn’t add up. Most people do more harm than good trying to find the next fad in healthy diets. Chances are most everything you hear at the kiosk in the mall is false. Don’t risk your health by listening to a high school drop out tell you how you need to go on a juice diet.

Most cleanses will make prolific claims about the need to rid your body of toxic elements. They use fear to ultimately sell.

If something sounds to good to be true then it is. Plain an simple. And if you have to buy a ‘product’ to feel better you’re probably being rused. Unless tha tproduct is a well balancedd diet of fruits, veggies, whole grains, and everything in between in moderation.

Only a fool would tell you otherwise. Don’t believe the hype. Also use common sense. If you don’t know about claims made by health alternatives then ask your doctor.

You know the difference between a nutritionist and a doctor? About 4-10 years of school. Why on earth would you listen to nutritionists and marketers when it comes to health? Not saying nutrionists and lifestyle newspaper writers are dumb people, a qualified nutritionist or dietician can do wonders to put you back on track if you’re been an idiot with your diet.

What you do’nt want to do is take medical advice from someone who stands to make a profit from your choices, or who just seems to be piggybacking on prevailing popular opinion.

When it comes to cleanses any doctor wroth their salt will tell you they’re unproven. That doesn’t mean the ‘diet clenases’ where you eliminate certain foods or eat healthier are bad. No, but the the ludcrious notion you need pills to cleanse your bowels is false. Purely false. No independent study claims you need pills to do the job of a well balanced diet.

Don’t get fooled by people with a stake in your ‘health’ choices. Ask your doctor and do some due diligence online. Remember, doctors are doctors because they’ve put in the time at school. Lifestyle writers or nutritionists can drop out of high school and take a course at community college. Who you gonna trust?

Doctor’s, dieticians, your mom, they all agree, eating whole grains is an important component to a healthy diet and healthy life (plus it makes you regular).

But apparently wheat just ain’t what it used to be. The genetically modified wheat we use now is quite a bit different than the wheat our ancestors used. For one, ours is full of sugar.

You’ve hard of the Atkins diet? Get rid of carbs? Well there’s some level of truth to it, although abolishing wheat all together isn’t the answer.

Just like any cleanse you have to a) do it in moderation, b) don’t buy into stupid hype, c) probably do’nt get pills, d) control your diet. If you’re eating mounds of bread/carbs then yes, you could adjust your habits so you’re not eating so much bad food.

But no, eliminating natural grains from your diet is not the magical key to your weight loss success.

With the increasing popularity to find the next health fix cleanse diets are the rage with health nuts and regular folks alike. The diets range in complexity, cost, and effectiveness.

The idea that one has to take pills and meet stringent and sometimes unnatural demands on the body are probably poor examples of a proper cleanse.

On the other hand, a positive change in one’s diet could yield substantial health changes in a relatively short time.

When it comes to cleanse diets it’s imperative to understand that the body has a capability to clean itself, however, what you put into th ebody will affect how it completes this job.

Since diet is crucial why not adopt some of the power foods that do wonders for your health.

This post will explore the value of every child’s favorite veggie BROCCOLI!

Broccoli can be eaten raw or cooked, but the best ways are to steam or eat them raw as salad, because that preserves the nutrients. The nutritional value of broccoli can be considered as the powerhouse of iron, protein, calcium, chromium, carbohydrates, vitamin A and vitamin C. It also contains important phytochemicals and antioxidants.

Proven health benefits include: anti-cancer properties; can reduce the risk of certain types of cancer such as breast cancer, colon cancer and lung cancer; anti aging properties; aids digestion due to high fiber content; acts as detoxifier due to the presence of vitamin C, sulfur and certain amino acids. One of the key reasons for this detox benefit are glucoraphanin, gluconasturtiian, and glucobrassicin; 3 glucosinolate phytonutrients found in a special combination in broccoli. This dynamic trio is able to support all steps in body’s detox process, including activation, neutralization, and elimination of unwanted contaminants. Isothiocyanates (ITCs) are the detox-regulating molecules made from broccoli’s glucosinolates, and they help control the detox process at a genetic level.

Broccoli is rich in cholesterol-reducing fiber, chromium and potassium which can help lower cholesterol levels and control blood pressure. It helps eliminate free radicals and toxins like uric acid from the body.

Broccoli rich in chromium, which is known to help regulate insulin and control diabetes. It can improve the immune system with the Vit C content. Being rich in calcium, zinc, magnesium and phosphorus, they help maintaining the strength bones and keeping the bone remain strong. Eating broccoli is very beneficial for the elderly and pregnant women, because these people are more prone to osteoporosis.

Iron and folic acid found in broccoli can help prevent iron-deficiency anemia.

Too many people are getting sucked into a marketing industry that preys upon the demand of health. Body cleanse diets are certainly up there when it comes to health ideas that have never been proven yet are widely popular.

The thing is doctors don’t advocate cleanse diets you hear about from a nutritionist, or more than likely, your neighbor.

Who are you going to believe? A physician or your neighbor who dropped out of high school?

But that isn’t to say that doctors are against all kinds of cleanses. In fact, many doctors will use the nomenclature to describe the process of sticking to a new diet for 1-2 weeks in an effort to kick start the body into naturally getting rid of toxins on its own.

The thing is if you have a healthy diet to begin with then a cleanse won’t help much.

Remember, that when your doctor uses the word cleanse they don’t mean the pill kit from the diet store, but rather the process of integrating healthy food into your diet.

Foods with heavy fiber and vitamin contents are a good place to start.

Note to self, the primary advocates of major cleanse programs are at best dieticians with limited schooling and who don’t focus on the scientific evidence behind the validity of the claims of various claims. MONEY is the primary driver behind this health industry. It’s pseudo health.

Countless individuals we encounter feel ‘better’ after a cleanse. But what we do’nt take into account every time is the change in diet. If you start a diet of fruits, veggies, and whole grains, beyond what your body is used to, you’re more than likely going to feel ‘better’ simply because of your diet.

Considering the Mayo Clinic itself won’t support the claims of ‘cleanse’ diets should be a telling sign. In fact, not physician will back the claims. Why? Simply put the evidence doesn’t exist.

What about you, do you swear by the value of cleanse diets? or are you more skeptical, preferring to opt for healthy nutrition over pills and extreme diets?

Dehydration
Fatigue
Dizziness
Nausea

Some diets call for the removal of nutrition for extended periods of time to get rid of ‘toxins’ that the body would otherwise store away.

We can’t say this wouldn’t be effective in the end, however, what’s even better would be the incorporation of a healthy diet and lifestyle. Our body didn’t all of a sudden forget how to process toxic waste. You can certainly help it along, but the natural ingredients to improve health and expel toxins is found in proper vegetables.

Eat some broccoli, it will do wonders for you.

Cheaper than a detox kit too.
